Zoning Board of Appeals

The Vernon Township Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) serves as the township’s independent, quasi-judicial body responsible for interpreting and applying the township’s zoning ordinances. Its primary role is to ensure that zoning regulations are administered fairly, consistently, and in a manner that balances individual property rights with the broader public interest.

The ZBA provides a structured, legally compliant process for reviewing requests that fall outside the standard provisions of the zoning ordinance. Through careful evaluation, public hearings, and formal decision-making, the board helps maintain the integrity of the township’s land-use framework while offering a mechanism for flexibility when unique circumstances arise.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets as needed on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM.
